i never considered anything i've ever said to be wise, but to each their own.
im going through an amazing and quite scary upheavel with my life and havent been on pahardcore much since graduation.
plus, i created a new user name because my ex girlfriend was reading the things i posted on this one and using my blogs against me. i left her a message as my last blog entry and just created a new account.
funny thing is, i cant remember what the name was. i think i actually posted as being a male....my stupidity, i guess.

if you'd like, while im here tonight, i'll go through and read whatever you have posted. but i cant say when the next time i'll log back on. sorry.

hope your life is treating you well.

Well, let's see. Yesterday, I finally got my favorite movie on dvd. Sleepers
And not too long ago I saw House of 1000 Corpses finally. It was strange, not too bad. May watch again in six months.
Uhmm, Derailed? I have it but it's a burned dvd so when it was like in the middle of the movie the dvd just stopped working. Sucked.
But I like a lot of independent films too.

Just did a huge presentation on The Tempest, Saved it and the file is only half there and wont open, at all.

It's 9pm

Ive been working on this all day

I'm past being angry or upset.

And Henry Rogers, existed, up until last week, when they did take it away.

Thankyou for your comments on Nylon Blue :), I'm a puntuation and grammar whore in real life yet on paper I'm so selfish with it. The poem is oddly spaced but I couldn't do that on here.
I might post a new poem soon, called Henry Rogers. Haven't decided yet.

I'm glad you had a yummy Thanksgiving. Right now, im frazzled and word out, I'm applying to universities, I have an interview with Cambridge in a week and a half.

I've decided that I miss Helter Skelters, You know? You get them at dodgey fairgrounds, they put you at the top with an old sack and push you on your way...my mum always used to be at the bottom waiting, My sister would glide down neatly in her sack. My sack would flop down a little after...followed by me about 30 seconds later. I'm in a funny mood right now. Clumsy mood.

And I keep waiting for my mobile to ring.

not til September, Summer starts now

well summer started friday night

last night was a tad rock and roll, at a friends house, We got wrecked, gotta love the lower legal drinking age in Britain. I was fine and sober by 2, none of us slept, we made breakfast at 5:30.

And my work experience is over, but I've been invited to a private screening in Soho tomorrow, My best friend Ziles is back from Ireland so Im gunna take her with me. It'll be good, there'll be some good contacts and people to network with there.

You did make that sound better than it is, but I'm sure you bring some Glamour to the workplace Mr, I mean it is u.

Going anywhere this summer? or You working too hard

haha i love the way you write. Always worth reading.

and after a certain point Birthdays become significantly pointless. I was 13 when I lost my faith in birthdays.

I spent yesterday in the city going places I'd never been, even though I live here, I felt such a tourist. The Art Galleries I know like the back of my hand but I'd never been to the Hard Rock Cafe, ever! So went there, and to the vault, and held jimmy hendrix's guitar, and wore Marc Bolan's jacket, and then Keith Moons, briefly, They wouldnt fit my friends, they were all too tall and not narrow enough in the shoulders. Today is a beauitful day, and I have the next 2 weeks off college. Study leave, we're doing exams, except most of mine were last week. Bastards only gave me 3 days to revise. Oh well.

How are you? Tell me something good. Or bad, so long as it's something.

And hey it's nice to be appreciated by someone thousands of miles away haha. I just got a call from my dad, he's in Romania? He must have left a couple of days ago.

Tell me how the shoot goes, I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, I'm trying to decide whether to get it trimmed, or go all out and re-style it. Might dye it and get the red put back in, while I have money, Park Studio (my hair dressers) actually called me up and asked why I hadn't been there in 6 months, haha mainly cos I'm bloody skint! I don't have a job and it's easier to just let it get longer!

Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/20/2006 9:17:00 AM
But my main motive for cutting it is since we have a new bathroom, everything is cold and tiled, so in the morning when I go for a shower there's this mad dash to get under the hot water because the bathrooms always freezing. And now my hair falls imbetween my shoulderblades and tickles me and makes me shiver, so I end up shivering doubly thanks to the fecking tiles and my hair. I say it's the best reason for a haircut. And far more fun than "well tis a bit long mate isn't it"

lol anyway, xxx<<3

Kaleidoscope 0 posts

I'm not normally dedicated to convo on this, consider youself special

and maybe imply it's a dream, but don't limit that as the only outcome, it's far more thought-provoking and daring to leave it almost as a stream of conscious thought without outright telling the viewer that it is. Lenny is never 3D, he skips from 2D to 4D it's almost like he skips being real, adds to the displacement.

The water's a good metaphorical image in itself for faith, the rain, lake, shower, bath idea I like, if faith plays a part in this then I hope you have an ace bridge for him to jump off, talk about a leap of faith, or loss of it.

Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 4:00:00 PM
The biggest compliment you're going to get is, you've not overcomplicated it. you're dealing with human situation and emotion, two bloody complex things, and trying to digitalize that.

remember, K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid)

tell me how it goes eh (and so you know, I only read through your script once babe, I'm not overanalysing something which is still your original concept, also I kinda want to know what you're trying to put into it, seeing as you're Lenny)

Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 3:59:00 PM
But because your characters are so distant it means you've really got to convey those emotions that they do show. Especially with Lenny, I'd like to see you act, you think you can do it justice? you wrote lenny, you know him better than anyone who will watch this. I reckon actually the way you've done it implies certain situations and idea that you didn't even intend to come across, it'll probably be open to interpretation.

(genuinely was that tiger part just a coincidence? If so, ha that's just strange.)
Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 3:58:00 PM
Ha I wasn't aiming to impress you. I wouldn't know how

And the compliments were constructive, I could have said "hey cool script kev *thumbs up*" And like any script it has the potential to land on its arse. But you're not arrogant about this work, in fact you're dubious which is great, means you'll mould the hell out of it baby. I did mention the surrealism, I mean yes, vague, artsy surrealist shots are fabulous, so long as they're not overdone. Because your script is heavily dis-jointed and the shots don't run completely smoothly you have to be aware of that so it won't get stupid and try and be bigger than what it is.

Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 3:58:00 PM
But I don't particularly think that will happen, because as a writer and director, you seem flexible and if you were an egoscentric pratt I wouldn't be bothering talking to you, let alone complimenting your script.

With a piece like this, I think it's best that the script is just your jumping off point, I can't see the locations you've chosen, and it's not like you've storyboarded it, I only got an idea of a few shots from what you'd written, but it flows and from reading it yes I am interested in how it will turn out. It's better that you don't know everything, go with it kid, itl surprise you.
Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 3:58:00 PM
The character the viewer gets closest to is Lenny, but even then there's extreme detachment, because of what he's enduring, I think that detachment is necessary for the overall effect so I wouldn't claim to know what's going on with Lenny outright, from only reading the script. I like that, haha that you can relate to the protaganist but can't quite reach him. There's no hypodermic effect with what you've written, no simple or ultimate gratification from just watching, it asks you to think. (some people won't like that hun lol)

And yes I read it, ok first impression? cos i only read through it once as I'm ha doing a lot of work. I'll probably read through it again later though. (is the bird and tiger part just a coincidence?)

I like the dream sequence vibe, espceially as it doesn't get too surreal, or supercilious, (I mean that it doesnt become something Salvidor Dali did, haha sorry I hate that artist) and tbh for the first couple of scenes I thought it might pan out to be pretentious, but it wasn't.
Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 11:24:00 AM
I like scene 6 a lot, but maybe it should be set in a place or room that reoccurs in the film, maybe have them walk past the empty piano a few time, have it as a repetitive image, like the bridge, the cigarettes and the diner, reminds you of that anonymity and lack of identity you saw in that earlier image. (that's my only idea I'm offering, cause I like the basis of what you've written, and it's all yours sweetie, I just loved that image of the faceless man on a piano, it's creatively simple and bleak, you could emphasise or contextualize it so your audience don't forget it)

the dialogue works, and the set up doesn't give everything away, ha I like that it's completely unsatisfying, it doesn't fullfill regular conventions or leave you feeling safe, if you film it right (and I have confidence you can) then you could really pull it off.
Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 11:24:00 AM

There are some really identifying themes in it, Lenny's Paranoia isn't overplayed, and there's never a hint of liberation, even though you can't see anything tangeable holding any of the characters back. It's vague but not ambiguous, vague is good, means you can change and add and work off what you have, and fundementally what you have, has a fuckload of potential.

haha and i know your second name know Mr Roberts

Kaleidoscope 0 posts
4/19/2006 11:23:00 AM
robert rodriguez, baby, claim to fame is through a grainy, hand-held camera film, shoddy sound, and it's just ha so good. El Mariachi, but maybe you've heard of the remake, Desperado? You should read his autobiography, it's haha inspiring to say the very least.
Kaleidoscope 0 posts

ha you err didn't get "in" the lake did you? Improv is good, it'll add to the effect, haha you could pull a Rodriguez.

Everyone on this site always asks or tells me the same things, except for you. I like that.

My sister just kicked me out of our room, (oh yes, twins, so we share) It's alright, this time next year I'll have to move out anyway for Uni, ha but : ( I was asleep, She came in and dragged my duvet off me. You ever seen Bruce Almighty? when Jim Carrey's wife takes his covers off him, and he wriggles around a lot, ha that was me this morning damn it.

(I'd think of a better analogy but I'm still tired
