you should check out rocky votolato, i think you'd really like him. he sounds more similar to iron and wine than dylan or drake in my opinion. real mellow, suicidal type shit, i know you';ll dig it. Suicide Medicine is a great album, and his version of plastic jesus is probably my favorite.

so I listened to Arethis and...
It wasn't exactly like I expected. I was thinking more doom oriented probably because I almost exclusively listen to doom, and when you said doom in the post, I thought "right on". Anyways, I got into this song (taint) the more I listened to it, at first it caught me a little off guard. Reminded me of Aphex Twin more than anything else, particularly the off time beats. The guitar added onto the fadeout at the end I liked. Breathing Walls I really liked, it had a solid Old Man Gloom drone sound with that creepy eerie sound to it. Good stuff. The last one reminded me exactly of the first one again. I instantly thought Aphex Twin, only because it's really the only exposure I have to electronic music, but I did like this one more than Taint. All in all, not bad.
