I'm not sure if anyone posted this, or if this is even the right spot for it...but here we go anyway.
For the last several years, The It's Alive Show! has been hosting the Zombie Walk at the Monroeville Mall where Dawn of The Dead was filmed. This particular walk has maintained it's Guiness World Record title for the most people involved for the last several years (around 1300 people last year).
What is a zombie walk you ask? Well nerds like myself dress up in zombie makeup and meander around the mall.
If it sounds lame to you...well it's for a good cause too! They encourage everyone to bring canned food for the local food bank as well.
So if you've got nothing better to do on Oct 11th, slather yourself in food coloring and corn syrup and come on down!

might be going to the one at asbury park
Every year i want to do this and every year something else is going on and i can't make it.
Aw, weeeeeak. Fuck prior engagements! You know you'd rather join in the nerd herd.
"fucking" my prior engagements means spending money to get to western PA instead of my wedding.
If i did this, i will show up as a real zombie because the boss will have killed me.
Statement retracted. Enjoy your wedding. haha
On a side note...you could always dress as a zombie for you wedding!
Well the wedding itself is on Halloween on the beach of St. Thomas but i am having a costume themed reception when we get back. Don't think i don't have something up my sleeve for that.
Ohhh very nice! In the rare occurrence that I found myself denouncing my personal protest against marriage, I would definitely get married on Halloween.
So you're excused.
The rest of you that live close by...not so much.
i live ten minutes from monroeville mall, and im there like once a week.
Kylie, if we decided to get married and the zombie walk was 2 weeks before the marriage, I think we'd be dressing up. Anyways, how cool would it be to drop in at the walk by plane? I thought about getting Zac to fly us there and doing an emergency landing. Although helicopter would work better.
Time to go to work, like a zombie...
Was that a shot at me? I live on the other end of the state and everything tha would go into it would cost entirely too much money that i don't have or have to use to spend on the wedding. 2 weeks before a wedding is alot closer than you think when it comes to finances...unless you have mommy and daddy paying for it, then you can pretty much do whatever you want with your own money.
and yes a zombie skydiver would be awesome.
Never been to the mall and I've lived in western PA for going on three years.
It's not a shot at anyone. Hell, there's plenty of things I couldn't go to which weren't nearly as serious as getting married. I do think if we were getting married, it'd be put on hold for the zombie walk though haha. It just sucks when someone who wants to go, can't. Believe me, I think 6 months before a wedding would be closer than I could think.
The only things worth checking out at the mall is the painted wall with Batman, Mr. Rogers and a zombie poling his head in the corner. The other is the store Monroeville Zombies, which I haven't been to yet but they came to one of the horror conventions and had some cool stuff for sale, so I'm sure the store is even better.
