I didn't see any recent posts about this so...

Yes it's a musical, that aside it's EVIL DEAD The Musical.

Lots of on stage live gore, blood squirting at the audience and overall a jolly good time.

It's running until July 5th now in Cleveland at the Beck Center for the Arts.

Saw it 2 years ago. Was in the front row. Was covered in blood by the end.

Tommy, you'd love it.

It's really over the top. I really want to get my hands on the soundtrack.

Also, there are talks of making this into a full length feature film, ala Rocky Horror.

I'd see it atleast 10 times in the theaters.

The Texas Chainsaw Musical debuted in Chicago last year. It apparently went over real well (not on the scale of Evil Dead) and they are talking about taking that show on the road. I'm hoping for an Off-Broadway run. I'll go see it. The theater in NYC that did Evil Dead was awesome.

I was thinking that as I was watching it, that they should turn it into an actual movie. Do you know what Raimi's thoughts are on the play?

I know that Bruce absolutely loved it and gave it great praise. I think i remember Raimi saying that he enjoyed it but wish he got to see it live (i swear i read that he only saw a video of it).

So according to the producers of the stage show, the movie is not happening...or atleast not anytime soon. They said they want Raimi's blessing to go ahead and make the movie but that hasn't happened yet. They said that no other producer, investor, or even Bruce Campbell's opinion matters if Raimi doesn't approve it. They do have a script written though which includes small changes from the play in order to make it work for a movie not just on a stage.

They are also trying to get the blessings to make an ice show out of it. That could be a joke though.

If I were starring in that play, and knew that either Bruce Campbell or Sam Raimi was in attendance, I'd be unbelievably nervous haha. I hope Raimi eventually gives the greenlight to a film version, with him producing or something. That would become a huge cult classic in its own right.

Evil Dead on ice though...that's just stupid.

I think that was more of the producer making a joke but regardless of how stupid it may be, i'd go see it.

It's a problem.

I'd probably see it based on the pure audacity of its existence.
