I'm in your fabulous city. What should I do today? Currently I'm at Reckless Records in The Loop, so something in this vicinity would rule. I don't really have plans until the Hope Con/Converge show tonight at 6.

The loop reckless sucks, its the newest and they have the weakest selection. There's a Reckless within five minutes of where the converge show is at on Milwaukee Ave that you should check out, much bigger and much better selection to browse through. You can also check out Myopic on the way which is a really really sweet used/rare/weird bookstore.

Also the Loop is pretty dull unless you're a middle-aged tourist, it's nothing but chain restaurants and overpriced department stores.

If youre vegetarian you have some decent options out in Wicker Park, too.

Just stay the hell away from Earwax, it's overpriced, underportioned garbage and the restaurant was closed down for awhile in October for rat and insect infestation.

Thanks Nick and Will! I'll definitely check out the other Reckless and Myopic - that sounds so awesome.

And thanks Brian, but the kid I'm with is veg, and I'm not hungry at all. Might be skipping out on Hot Doug's this trip :(

GO TO HANDLEBAR!!!!!!

It's on North Ave, same street as the SubT. Amazing food, amazing portions, best vegetarian restaurant ever. Sultan's Market (also on North) is really good too, plenty of vegan/veggie items there too, check it out if you dig middle eastern food.

for vegetarian eats before the show, if you and/or him likes pizza, Crust is a good place. its all organic or something like that, lots of vegetarian options.

its at about 2000 w. division (half mile south of the show, quarter mile west). not sure how the weather will be or how far you want to walk

also, sultans for mediterannean stuff. best falafel in town. its a few blocks west of the show, on north ave (edit: will beat me)

Is that why there are police barricades up everywhere?

Also, thanks a ton for the food suggestions, everyone. Has anyone been to Pick Me Up Cafe on Clark & Sheffield? I think I'm going there for lunch tomorrow.

the cubs are playing the marlins this weekend (1:20 fri, 12:05 sat, 1:20 sun), and that place is a few blocks south of wrigley field. ive never been there, but im guessing it wont be easy finding a seat if you go before the game(s)

RIP OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, its quirky and "cool" looking but the food blows and is way too expensive considering how generic it is

i can pm you a billion more interesting places to go
