Pretty much anything Josh Homme is a part of is superior music.
I never got into this stuff until I started listening to Kyuss about 3 months ago. (where the fuck was I, or better yet, where the fuck were they back in the 90's...I can't believe they weren't so well known back then.)
I have been listening to QOTSA, the Desert Sessions, Kyuss, and the Eagles of Death Metal, not to mention Nebula, Brant Bjork (ex-Kyuss), and Masters of Reality non-stop for months...I can't even get into anything else...and I have always been a metalhead/hardcore/punkrock loving son of a bitch my whole life.
If you are a fan of the above, you probably know what I'm talking about...everything else is boring after listening to this stuff.
I love Kyuss. Beyond that I can't really get into QOTSA
QOTSA's first 3 albums are fucking genius...Lullabies to Paralyze is definitely lacking in the Nick Oliveri department...he put the edge in that band, they sound too laid back or something on the new record.
dude. i love, love, love, anything that josh homme does. especially QOTSA. i think they are fucking brilliant and one of the greatest bands in the world right now. i can agree with you about not listening to much else.....his song writing is just better than anyones. its heavy, complex-yet simple, catchy as fuck, creepy and beautiful at the same time.
you need to give the new queens time to grow on you....i wasnt sure at first...but now i fucking love it. "burn the witch" is one of the most innovative rock songs i've heard in a while...not to mention badass.
thumbs up for this thread.
I really do think everything else I listen to is boring in comparison.
i need to give queens more time to grow on me, i haven't been able to get into them yet.
i figured someone who likes a bunch of different shit, like you do, would be into them. what albums have you heard by them?
a few songs off of songs for the deaf and rated r, that's all i can remember.
kyuss is great.
Kyuss is fucking incredible. QOTSA is good-Songs For the Deaf was awesome, Rated R was good, the Kyuuss split was real good, and i havent heard all of the new one yet, but I wasnt floored by the first single.
Desert Sessions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 all fucking rule.
anyone into John Garcia's new band Hermano?
Unida is also some great shit
I'm a big fan of Kyuss. Josh Homme is a prick though.
don't know how i missed that, sorry, like I said, Welcome to Sky Valley has been ruling my stereo tonight.
