Review:
It's been a while since I picked up a Propaghandi release. I believe the last one I had was "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes," and when I heard that I was fucking floored. A mixture of punk rock and speed metal, with a progressive technical side to boot set my sensors off and I've never heard another album like it.

Now, they've seemed to top themselves yet again with "Supporting Caste." The song writing has become more and more developed, finding themselves becoming more melodic and more metal with this release. By seeing that, you might think that they've weened themselves off of their punk rock roots. Not true at all, since their lyrics are all politically charged and angst ridden since they day they started their musical war against the "system." This band embodies all that is punk rock, in every sense of the words.

Now, while it's certainly a punk record, it plays out a bit darker and heavier than any of their other material. There is a certain mood to this record that just adds fuel to their political lyrical fire. The music fucking shreds. Riffs and tasty licks rip by like a finely tuned chainsaw, concocting a symphony of speedy metal infused punk carnage. The drums keep the pulse of each song thumping hard and fast, while also easing back on the slower more melodic numbers. The vocals have also taken a more melodic approach as well, doubling and harmonizing with gusto, while the gruffer yelled styling keeps it angry, pissed off and aggressive.

The production is phenomenal, everything comes though beautifully. The guitar tone is brisk, yet creamy. The bass has a certain growl to it that just adds enough attack and bite to give a huge driving presence, while the drums sound lively and punchy as fuck.

If you claim to enjoy and listen to punk rock, then this record needs to be in your collection asap.

Recommended tracks: Night Letters, Dear Coach's Corner, This is Your Life, Without Love
