Touché Amoré - Live At BBC Radio 1

Los Angeles' Touché Amoré have been a hot commodity since dropping "...To The Beat Of A Dead Horse" back in 2009. Last year's "Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me" was on many top 10 lists and is one of the more popular albums in modern hardcore. They have toured coast to coast for what seems like forever and don't show any signs of letting up anytime soon. Following up all of that is a live EP of songs collected from TA's recording session on BBC Radio.

The songs presented here aren't exclusive or new by any means, but 3 songs off of "Parting The Sea.." and 1 off of their split with La Dispute. Give the fact that "Parting The Sea.." was recorded live, the versions presented here honestly don't sound much different. Give or take a more raw vocal delivery and assorted production magic, these songs sound like glorified demo versions of the studio tracks. This isn't a knock on the band by any means, as TA is one of the better live bands I've had the pleasure of seeing in recent memory. I just get the feeling that the release of this EP is more for the vinyl junkie TA fanatics out there looking to complete their collection of EVERY color of EVERY pressing of EVERY release the band has had. Confused by what I'm suggesting? Just search for Touché Amoré vinyl on eBay and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Overall, any diehard fans out there should be looking to pick this up to add to their collections. But any newcomers are better off sticking to their studio albums, as no new content is to be found. "Live At BBC Radio 1" is out now via Deathwish Inc.
