The Tug Fork River Band? Yeah, not sure what they're going for with that name either especially since they're from Indiana. Oh well, I'm sure it holds meaning to them and what's in a name anyway? I'm hear to talk music, unfortunately the music isn't much better than their band name.
This 5 track ep is the followup to 2009's debut Catch for Us the Metal. All 5 tracks were not easy to get through. The easiest way to sum them up to say take one part generic metalcore, add in a healthy dose of the worst of Pantera influenced bands, sprinkle in what Killswitch Engage were doing in 2004, and top it all off with any hard rock you could hear on your local radio station.
To me this is what music fans of Five Finger Death Punch and recent Lamb of God would make. It's all boring and all generic. Absolutely nothing stood out to me in the way of the music. A lot felt forced, contrived, and monotonous. This is especially true of the beyond played out southern rock riffs and definitely true of the clean vocals over the choruses. The only positive I could find in this was the production, it had a nice sound. It's just a shame it wasn't good music to go with it. I do hope the song title Piggly Wiggly refers to the grocery store chain.

Enjoy your Five Finger Death Punch core. I love when fans (maybe members) get heated about someone not liking their music. You want me to fancy it up with adjectives? I could if you really want me to. I could expand on this review for 5 double spaced pages with all sorts of adjectives and deeper descriptions of why I think it's bad. I'm very capable of doing so. I'm not capable of reading books with headphones though, I'm not sure how using your ears correlates to reading.
I actually enjoy reading bad reviews about the music I create, because I appreciate honesty.
We definitely are thankful that you actually took the time to listen to our music and write a review, even if you didn't care for it.
Who knows, maybe someone who digs Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch will read the review and check us out because of it.
And yes, Piggly Wiggly is named after the grocery chain.
Thanks again
