Looking for new bands to jam to? No worries, Life To Live Records' latest release gives us a look at some hardcore bands you may have been sleeping on and didn't even know it. Rad Summer 2012 gives a wide spectrum of the genre, from the melodically driven Clockwork to metal-influenced Slow Burn. I'd say there's four different types of bands on this compilation: Melodic punk bands in Clockwork and Flex, both of which I liked a lot, old-school, punk-influenced hardcore (Losin' It being my favorite), the more modern-sounding, heavier hardcore (Code X Red being the highlight for me), and the down-right nasty hardcore (out of these I dug Harness the most). I don't really have any downsides to this compilation, it's just something to check out and see if you like some newers bands you might not of heard otherwise. Every band is solid and deserves to be on this comp entitled "Rad Summer 2012."
