Lefutray is a word that means "fast sound," which is what you get here. This is a band from Chile who incorporates sonic uses of various types of metal such as groove, thrash, and death. Last Breath is their second full-length, the first instance where the vocals were recorded in English.
Lyrically, this record showcases the bands' disgust and hatred for a the decadent society they live in. You can tell that English isn't the bands' native tongue, as some of the lyrics come off very awkward such as "Fighting for keep yourself up smelling your sadness." Perhaps it's something that doesn't translates well to English, but I think it would've been a wiser idea to keep writing as they did before. It certainly takes away from the message and becomes almost comical after a few awkward lines like that.
Perhaps it's a case of being jaded due to the fact that the US has such a strong breed of extreme metal bands, but this record doesn't do anything for me. The only thing I could really enjoy was the vocals which remind me of Max Cavalera. Sure, there's some variations of sound, but each style covered is just sub-par and the riffs seem recycled from bands doing it at a much higher level. The recording quailty is good, but the band seems underwhelmingly loose at some points, most noticeably in "263."
For me, this is definitely a metal release to pass up on.
