Being a big fan of D-beat I was interested in checking out some new bands. Cop Problem was sitting there ready to be reviewed. I feel the genre is a little misplaced. The music is more of a hardcore punk sound with an evolved sound from the 90's hardcore punk.
With only three songs I will do a song by song review.
Monuments: The opening track to the EP. It starts with some hardcore sounding drumparts and intro style guitar work. After the intro it goes into some fast d-beat style hardcore.
Along For the Ride: This short song is by far my favorite here. It is fast with some sweet riffs and great drumming. Every part of this song is just great.
Blinded By Power: Is a bit slower than the rest of the EP and has a very hardcore sound to it. It is the longest song here clocking in at almost five minutes. This song is my least favorite but is still a solid track.
Even though there are only three songs here, I feel like I understand what the band is trying to do. What they are doing they do well. Each song has a very distinct sound to it yet flows amazingly well. This band chose these songs because they go so well together and didn't choose songs that they liked. This is a band worth keeping an eye on and personally can't wait to get a physical copy of this record.
