Upon my first few listens to this album I found it a bit underwhelming, that's not to say I didn't enjoy it I just thought it was missing something. After about a dozen listens Cathedrals of Information started hitting its groove.
Cabin Fire is a 2 piece from Fresno California. They play Screamo/Post Hardcore/Whatever this stuff is being called these days. We've got fuzzy guitars, cymbal crashes, frantic vocals and blastbeats. What I find I really enjoy about this album are the little parts that are reminiscent of the very under-appreciated Employer,Employee.
Overall we have a very solid release in a style that is usually hit or miss for me. This band contradicts that thought. There are some really good songs on here and then there are a few that aren't horrible but they always had me thinking they could have been scrapped and this released as an EP.
