Huge suspension. I dont think he deserved a suspension especially since there was no injury. Highly doubtful Nashville can turn the series around but i think they can win tonight and make this a closer series. Caps vs Rangers will hopefully be a game 7 series. That'd be fun to watch. Well not for Jeremy.

Giroux was steaming mad after the non-whistle, skated halfway down the ice and delivered a hit where the only point of contact to Zubrus was to his face. It wasn't a devastating hit or anything, but it warranted a one game suspension. Bad news for the Flyers going into game five.
Chances are they're going to lose anyway. Still, I can see a game misconduct, but its still fucking hockey. And zubrus took a dive anyway.

I mean how horribly inconsistent Shanahan is. Two head hunting attempts by Neal, one game, Malkin does the same hit as Torres, one game Malkin, Torres 25. Weber no suspension, Giroux one.. dudes a joke
I agree that the suspensions/non-suspensions doled out, especially in the playoffs, have been wildly inconsistent. It's pretty ridiculous at this point.

the injury/non injury point should have no weight in the suspension/non suspension of a player. was the point of contact the head?
yes, suspension
no, no suspension
also this,

I watched the video again, I think he was going for shoulder to shoulder, you can see Z's shoulder move right before Giroux gets there allowing it to make contact with his chin. I don't think it was intentional. As for Shanahan saying the pick was log gone, its a few feet away, I've seen hits not called where the pick is across the ice.For the amount of inconsistency this playoffs for him to suspend Giroux just adds to it in my opinion.
