Pudge is retiring on Monday as a Ranger. I am sad but he had a phenomenal career and is retiring on the team he should.

My friend's dad used to always call him Fudge Rodriguez, not in a mocking way, he thought it was his name

Cliff lee on the DL.

Also the Nationals are 12-4.

"People still visit. A man named Myron Johnson came here from the Upper Peninsula on Sunday morning to mimic a home run swing and run the bases. Asked about why Tiger Stadium mattered to him, he welled up with tears and couldn't answer the question."

i dont even think it was iffy. definite strike to me. he's offering to hit the pitch, which is the only thing that matters at the MLB level. his arms are fully extended, hips rotating, and he's pretty committed to hit but got fooled big time by the curve. i think he's definitely committed to trying to hit the ball, albeit poorly.

NCAA has wording that the bat has to cross the front hip, and high school has something similar if i remember correctly. its a swing in both of those levels as well.

I'm a little curious as to why the Phils never called up that Matt Rizzotti to play first base while Howard was on the DL if for nothing else then to possibly build his trade value
