when i was a kid i loved the nba all star game, but i also loved the nba too. i could tell you any of the teams starting five all year long. baksetball back then just seemed different watching barkley, jordan, olajuwon, malone, o'neal, robinson, pippen, stockton and all the 90s guys. i get that dirk, james, bryant, wade, pierce, nash, and all the big names now are special but it all just seems like too much flash now.

That era also had a good bit of grit to it. They played rougher games. Now we have pansies flopping every two seconds. Seemingly gone are the days of playoffs like Pacers VS Knicks. Last year's season was highly entertaining though and I felt the best since the 90s.

I have that dvd. It's awesome. I also have the Pacers best games set which includes a bunch of full Knicks games and the game where he did this:

I love that blatant shove on Jordan. I loved watching Reggie Miller play.

Derek Rose almost always has that look and/or like he should be very thankful he's absurd at basketball because it doesn't seem like a lot is going on upstairs other than shoot the ball.

I love Derrick Rose. Such a classy badass dude. He's not a clown like Lebron. God, did you see Lebron at the slam dunk contest Saturday night? With those big dork glasses with no lenses and a fucking jean jacket with leather sleeves? He wasn't even playing, and he made the event about him, constantly getting up and hooting and goin "aw hell no!"

There's a distinction between supporting your teammates and blatantly trying to steal the spotlight, and Lebron is most definitely the latter of the two.

I thought it was hilarious when whatever rapper came on stage and had the same jacket on as Lebron except it had spikes or something. I bet Lebron was pissed.

Yeah, I can't stand Lebron. Rose just wants to play and win. He has the drive to do so. He only cares about basketball. He doesn't care about his "image/brand." I hope he's 100% for the playoffs and destroys Miami.

Very true. It's nice that the East is actually more interesting this year.

I like the Sixers, but they've got to improve their record on the road if they want to contend.
