This will be true as long as you own a house unless you move an immigrant family into your garage.

Plant some giant trees. The best time spent in our yard is watching the ten foot sequoia and cedar tree-wall we put in along the property line top thirty feet in five years. You can no longer see any of the neighbors' houses. Also oak on the south-facing end for sun in the winter when the leaves fall, and alder, birch and cedar again in swampy areas. Never waste time or money on stunted ornamental species.
