I am a long time gibson fan. my dad turned me onto gibson when i first started playing guitar, and it has been my favorite company ever since. i love both of my SGs more than any other guitar i have ever played. one of the SGs that i have is a Gibson SG menace, and i cannot find hardly any literature on this model/series. i have done countless amounts of research, and all i can find is that they made two different guitars in this series. the SG (which i have) and the Les Paul. all i want to know, is what were the running years for this series, and how many guitars were made. i just want to know how rare it actually is, because i cannot find the SGs hardly anywhere, and i cannot find the LPs at all now. i remember when they were still making them, and looking at them on the gibson site and wanted to get one. but by the time i actually had the money to get it, they were no longer in production. about a year and a half ago, i found mine in guitar center for $650. when i asked why it was such a low price, they told me it was because the pickups were not original. (they had been swapped out for the steve vai active EMGs, so in my opinion, that is an awesome upgrade ). if anyone has any info on the series, and would like to share it, that would be awesome.

I prefer my guitars to be matte black and have brass knuckles somewhere on them... you know, just to let me people know I mean business.

How does the Menace stack up against my needs as an aggressive guitar player?

sorry my independent research facility doesn't log my hours.

not that the amount of research ive done is going to change whether or not you have the answer i'm looking for, but ive gone through the gibson encyclopedia that was put out in 2010. as well as searching the internet periodically for the past year and a half. trying to get more info on the model. sorry if that wasnt specific enough for you
