My roommate's bedroom floor is getting re-done and in the meantime all the shit from his room is in the common area. There is no more living room or dining room or kitchen. Just boxes of shit that I have to meander around to get where I need to go. It'll be two weeks tomorrow that it's been like this.
Now initially, I was fine with this. We're getting a discount in rent and it's really not that big of a problem. However, us 3 roommates discussed recently how we should cut the discount. Me and non-new floor roommate agreed that floor roommate take 50% of the cut of whatever the discount is, and me and him split the remaining 50%, making it 25% a piece.
Well, new-floor guy is all passive aggressively disapproving of this proposal. He thinks he should get more. His reasoning is that he's basically been displaced and has had to stay elsewhere in the interim. This logic is fine until you realize there's a fucking mattress in the living room that he could sleep on if he was so inclined, and he doesn't have to go anywhere.
I've been waiting for him to buck at me about this, because I'm gonna tell him to fuck off, we're splitting it 50/25/25 because it's fair and makes sense. I've been inconvenienced heavily too by this over the past two weeks, and so has roommate #3, so why should we get less than 25%?
He's avoided the topic with me, however, because he knows I'll tell him like it fucking is. He only talks to our other roommate about matters such as these because he's more passive about these things.
Anyway, that's one thing I'm heated about.
