"If you didn't catch Microsoft's press conference at E3 today, here's a brief recap: game, game, XBOX LIVE CONTENT STREAMING SPORTS MUSIC APPS, South Park game, exeunt. The message was clear: streaming services aren't just the sideshow anymore; they've got a spot in the main tent right alongside Master Chief.

As of today, the Xbox 360 is officially one of the best set-top boxes in the world. So you know what? It's time to start acting like one..."

it honestly makes sense. i mean, you can already go online to places like ESPN3, firstrowsports, southparkstudios, even youtube etc and stream live video without a monthly charge.

the only way charging for the xboxlive as a whole would make sense anymore would be if you could use the xbox as a pc and search google, post on twitter, etc.

It has a fee for a reason, ps3 has been hacked countless times, down for weeks at a time, dropped game rates through the roof.

I enjoy my yearly gold and the money I pay supports it.

this isn't advocating against the charge for online gaming.
this is about the many other features being wrapped into XBL on top of the individual vendor charges.

i understand not wanting to pay the extra 60 bucks....but if that money is going towards things like Collin said then I'm still for it

60 bucks for a whole year of a stable working online experience is worth it to me
