The home PC is infected I can not access the registry at all. Anyone have any suggestions on removal. My avast has failed to pick it up and I can not start in safe mode. Any help will be appreciated.

Yep and it's rewriting the registry files. There is no way to manually delete the corrupted ones because there is no path. Thank you Tom, gonna give that a shot.
