Thiago Silva out with injury, Rashad Evans was rumored to take his place, but it looks like Matt Hamill gets the fight.

Rampage tweeted not long after the announcement that he has no interest in fighting Hamill.

Edgar and Maynard both hurt. Fight is being postponed to possibly the Philadelphia card.

Rampage and The Hammer to headline now.

I was ready to peg this event as one of those ones that look like crap on paper but end up being a great card full of exciting fights. Well that wasn't the case. Some questions were answered but ultimately it was a boring event.

Rampage/Hamill - In reality this proved to be nothing more than a tune-up fight for Rampage. It allowed him to work out some kinks and if he can heal up quickly and get back in there, he'll be ready to jump right back into the thick of things. It was a little frustrating watching him not put away Hamill when he could have multiple times but The Hammer did a good job of getting out of Dodge as soon as he was hit with something big. As for Matt Hamill, it's time to go back to the drawing board. So far anytime he's stepped up to the big leagues, he's come up short. Franklin smoked him and Rampage made him look like an amateur. I think a good fight for him after this would be Ryan Bader win or lose against Tito. I think Bader is enough of a threat to prove whether or not Hamill can break into the top 10 but not too out of his league that we'd witness another fight like Saturday.

Mir/Nelson - While Mir had a great gameplan, he came in alot heavier than I'd like to see him at and him sucking wind like he was after 1 round was bad. He should be around 245lbs at most. However, he looked decent otherwise and completely dominated Nelson. Nelson on the otherhand looked like total garbage and I think its about time that he makes a drastic change in his diet. I'm not saying 205lbs like some people are because in reality that would put him out probably a year before he would be in 205 shape. But he looked like he was going to have a heartattack going into the 3rd round. I'm glad to hear he approached Mike Dolce after the event. If anyone can help him, Dolce will.

Browne/Struve - Struve has to learn how to use his reach. He's so tall and could be a Semmy Schlitt if he wanted to be but he fights like he's 5'7". Browne did a good job of capitalizing on this and landing that beautiful superman punch. Dana says that Browne is "in the mix" but I don't think a win over Struve warrants a title shot anytime soon. I'd like to see him against someone like Matt Mitrione or Pat Barry before jumping into the frying pan. But if they want to launch him "into the mix", fight Roy Nelson next.

Stann/Santiago - This fight kind of went how I pictured it would. Although, I'm not sold yet on Stann's "power", Santiago has enough of a suspect chin that I knew he'd find himself in trouble early. Santiago's recent string of wins really hasn't come from the greatest of opponents and stepping in there with a solid opponent in Stann was going to prove to be a challenge he wasn't going to be ready for.

Story/Alves - Well I would have bet that Alves was going to stuff takedowns and crush Story in the standup. However, that didn't happen until the 3rd round and it barely happened. I don't think this marks the end of Alves but he still needs a world of work on his wrestling. That is clearly still his weakness. With his explosiveness and athleticism it should come naturally. Story wants Fitch next to put him in line for the title. I will take a shit break during that fight because whatever comes out of my ass will be more interesting to look at.

Oh and Torres was robbed in the decision. It was a close fight but Torres was way more active and threatening on the ground.

Post Fight Presser Notes:

- Dana informs the media in attendance that Frank Mir won't be at the conference as he has a suspected broken jaw, while Brian Stann has a broken thumb but is still attending the presser.

Stefan Struve and Jorge Santiago are also at the hospital getting checked over.

- Matt Hamill said he wasn't happy with his performance and was embarassed with his takedowns. He says he wants to get back into the training room, figure out what went wrong and come back better.

- Dana White says "it sucks" that Rampage might have a fractured hand, but he's holding out hope that it's not.

Despite a slightly lackluster performance White still feels Rampage is one of the top two or three fighters in the division and he wants to keep him busy. A fight with Jon Jones would be on the cards if his hand isn't broken.

- Roy Nelson jokes that he brought in Dan Hardy to help with his wrestling for this fight.

- Rampage said he took it as a personal challenge to knock out Hamill after finding out that he hadn't been KO'd before. He says he tried, but just couldn't find the finish and says he doesn't think anybody else will be able to KO him either.

Later he jokes that he hit Hamill with everything but the toilet, and that he probably needed a hammer to KO him.

As for his hand, he says he hurt it in Japan back in December drunkingly messing around in a hallway with a friend. He had hoped it would have healed by now, but he hurt it again in training and was told by a doctor that it was fractured. He says he chose to fight anyway.

Rampage says he's not happy with the way he's been fighting lately, but insists that it's due to people always trying to take him down.

- Rick Story says he'd like to face Jon Fitch next.

Story also reveals that the knee that Alves caught him with "sent my teeth through my mouthpiece."

- Dana claims that Brian Stann is on his way to being a superstar after finishing Jorge Santiago who he describes as "a legit guy." According to White, UFC Legend Chuck Liddell told him he believes Stann will be a star.

- Rampage is apparently oblivious to the recent Jon Jones Vs Rashad Evans feud, but says that anybody who knows Evans will probably end up in that situation.

He says he doesn't really know Jones, but that he has his belt so he wants it back.

- Travis Browne says that his corner called for the superman punch that KO'd Stefan Struve after noticing that the Dutch fighter was throwing a knee every time they separated.

- Nelson cites Mir's size as the big difference between them in the fight, saying that "he's a big guy to get off you."

- Demetrious Johnson feels he was the worthy winner against Miguel Torres, citing his wrestling dominance in round two, and stand-up superiority in the third, though he does give his opponent the first round.

He says he was happy with his performance, but defers a question about his chances of a title shot against the winner of Cruz vs Faber to Dana White.

- According to Nelson he only got caught cleanly with an elbow, and he says that Mir's takedowns were the difference in the fight.

- Stann says he is aiming to be the No.1 contender in the middleweight division by the end of the year, and estimates that he's still two years away from being the best he can be.

Stann says he has no interest in fighting fellow war vet and Strikeforce middleweight fighter Tim Kennedy as they are close friends.

Fight Of The Night Bonuses: ($70,000)

Submission: Gleison Tibau
