Just got one of these, and I have to say that it's awesome. It's the UX2 version, wasn't too expensive, and you can do a lot of cool stuff with it. Way back I hated Line 6, but this is way ahead of the old amps as far as technology goes. Basically I just plug it in USB and use their POD Farm software to pick what I want. Lots of amps, cabs, tons of effects, and everything else you'd ever want. You can change the type of mic, mic placement, room size for the cab, and it all has an effect on the tone. The models are good, and pretty accurate from what I remember. Something like 30 amps, 30 cabs, several type of every effect, EQs, compressors, gates, filters, whatever. There are also a ton more that you can get on their site for a little extra money. You have to use additional speakers or headphones though. I'm running headphones now, but will put it through an amp eventually. If you ever want to practice at your computer this is probably the best thing out there. Putting down riffs for ideas or soloing over is super easy too. I just spent about four hours playing around with sounds, and came up with some really good stuff. This was through not so great headphones too. This is going to help me out immensely for practice and small recording stuff so I couldn't be happier about it.
