No Idea Records just announced the upcoming release Defiance Ohio's new album, "Midwestern Minutes." I've already listened to a handful of the songs, and it's pretty damn good, definitely more comparable to "The Fear! The Fear! The Fear!" than "The Great Depression," but good nonetheless. Of course I realize this will catch a lot of shitty comments from folk-punk haters, and that's ok. There will always be those out there who will judge others for their tastes in the arts, especially music. And they can have at it, as far as I'm concerned. Defiance Ohio are great, though. Folk-punk has really turned some impressive corners over the past few years, and I for one have followed it closely. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy of "Midwestern Minutes." Should be out mid-summer.
