Has anyone gotten this done?

I have some severe neck pain and I wonder if this would help.

Also, I'd love a reccomendation on where to go?

my co-worker had back pain for years and tried everything short of surgery with no results. as a last ditch effort she tried acupuncture and after the 3rd session she was pretty much pain free. she said the only downside is you have to keep getting treatments and it can get expensive.

I've had some of the best sleep during my acupuncture treatments. I know it sounds ridiculous but getting acupuncture is one of the most relaxing things in the universe. I also get B12 shots from my doc there.

I was having persistent lower abdominal pain months after some surgery and had allopathic doctors basically assume I was barking at them for painkillers and flick me away so I gave homeopathy a try. I had 3 different acupuncturists over the several months I gave it a shot. There was no consistency to how they placed needles, and all of them explained the rationale behind their placement completely differently. It really had no effect on the pain that laying in a quiet room with a heat lamp pointed at my stomach wouldn't have. I'll admit to having weird moments where s/he would stick a needle in my leg and I would feel it in my ear or get a little zap somewhere or something like that, but that's not really treating anything--it's just interesting.

Frankly, I think it's bullshit but some people swear by it, and if you think it's working that's really all that matters.

I would think a good massage, new pillow, or visit to the chiropractor might work better.

But if you can find a place that does accupuncture at a reasonable price, there couldn't be much harm in trying it out.
