tied for 2nd best in the league with 6 pro-bowlers, tied with Dallas and Indy and behind Minnesota who has 8. You could technically say the Eagles have 7 since Desean Jackson made it as a starter as both a WR and a KR (this has never happened in the history of the pro bowl, one player making it as a starter at 2 positions, that is).

Anyway, they are:

Desean Jackson - WR/KR
Leonard Weaver - FB
Jason Peters - LT
Trent Cole - DE
Asante Samuel - CB
David Akers - K

McNabb is a first alternate, I'm trying to find the rest.

expected all of those...thought maybe Sheldon Brown would get on though, but not with Charles Woodson around, and figured McNabb or Rodgers would have to be an alternate

and very glad to see Dawkins made it again

that was one of the arguments on ESPN.....the same guy also thinks McNabb or Romo should be before Rodgers....not sure if i agree with that and that Sheldon Brown deserves a spot, but there isn't a good argument for putting him above Samuel, Woodson or Rogers-Comartie (or whatever the fuck it is)

i also agree with the dude when he said Peters got in just on reputation....he hasn't really done much this year to deserve it, but i honestly am not familiar enough with OLs throughout the nfc to name a better replacement

the pro bowl selections are dumb as usual

once a guy starts getting into the pro bowl a couple of years in a row they just start making the ballot every year after that and people just vote for them based on name alone without looking at their stats for that year

Peters had a good year. A lot of stuff is misleading when it comes to his play, but look at it like this, when he is not in the lineup, the OL plays awful. The whole OL for the first half of the year was getting healthy/settled, Peters and, until now, Jackson were the two most consistent of the bunch. The OL play as a whole has drastically improved recently as well, and that has a lot to do w/ Peters getting healthier.

i was just thinking from looking at the Dallas pro bowl selections....Gurode got in as starting center while i do not think he has had a great year but then someone like Jay Ratliff did not even get a nod as far as voting goes.
