I highly recommend The New Vegetarian Epicure by Anna Thomas, and also her book Love Soup. I have read them cover to cover and used over fifty of her recipes, all with success. Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything Vegetarian is actually really great too. I have been a vegetarian and a restaurant cook for four years, and I think these books are def. worth the money.

Congratulations on your decision to change your lifestyle, and good luck:)

Salad - I always throw some sort of fruit into mine. Fresh berries (cranberry, raspberries), orange slices, etc. Use different dressings, I like a raspberry vineagrette.

Fruit salad - fresh berries, orange slices, grapes, apples, whatever fruit you like. Serve with yogurt on the side to dip.

Pasta - add in peppers, onions, garlic, olive oil.

Steamed broccoli and rice - I like red and green peppers mixed into this.

so i made a tofu stir fry last night and it turned out pretty damn good!

i marinaded the tofu, after cutting it into thin strips, in soy sauce and added some garlic powder, basil, parsley, and ground cayan pepper. let it sit for about 45min to an hour.

using olive oil i sauteed asparagus, portabella mushrooms, 5 little sweet peppers, and a medium red onion for about 10-15 min adding a small amount of mrs. dashs seasoning. i then turned the burner on low and put a lid on the skillet. (i also added the soy sauce/spice marinade to the skillet after the tofu was done marinading)

i cut the tofu into small cubes to fit it all into the skillet and cooked then separately with olive oil until they were hot.

added all of the above together in a big skillet with three cups of brown rice, mixed together, and let sit on low for about 5 minutes with the lid on.

after i put it on my plate i added some shredded ramono, and crumbled goat cheese and mixed it together.

boners.

that sounds really good.

I had Tofu "steak" the other day. Basically comes in the same container as regular Tofu but was already seasoned with pepper and garlic. It was honestly the first time I could eat a piece of uncooked Tofu without being turned off. They suggested grilling it but I just sauteed it and put it on the top of my salad.

If you are on a Tofu kick, I suggest trying to find some of that.

ACME had it.

I got the Garlic & Pepper (as previously stated) but they also have Cajun and Grilled versions as well. I didn't see those when I picked up the G&P.

The brand name is House Foods.

Are you veg? Am I missing something?

either way. Tofurky does lunchmeat now. I almost started jerking off in Wegmans the other night when I saw it. I bought one of each of the 4 kinds they had. I'm salvating now thinking about the sandwich I'm going to eat in 30 minutes.

fair enough.

I still recommend the Tofurky lunchmeat though. Only problem is, I literally have only found it at Wegmans. It's probably available at WholeFoods or Trader Joes as well. They seem to be the only 3 stores that carry Tofurky during Thanksgiving too.
