Purely from a scientific aspect, they got it right. Everything that's there has been in development at NASA for the 2020 (?) mission back to the moon.
From a cinematic point, it's got a lot of CG, but it doesn't feel overused or immediately fake, thus breaking your involvement. The script is well written and the character arcs feel real. Sam Rockwell needs to get more work like this because he stole the show.
I'm glad good science fiction is back in the studios' repertoire. I'd rather see pictures like this than more Spielberg CG-reliant, product placement-heavy, departure fests. Kind of crappy that Blomkamp and Jackson got booted from 'Halo', though District 9 looks like a crazy good film. Just sad that the idiots responsible for the time vampire that was Indy 4 are going to half-ass one of the better sci-fi sagas to come out in the last 10 years.
