I was thinking healthy foods, exercise schedules, etc..

I would like to lose close to 20 pounds in 2-3 weeks. No need for lectures, I know the goods and bads. I just need to do it.

If you're looking for unhealthy ways to do it, I have no advice. Any time I'd tried the starving myself nonsense or skipping meals (which I did pretty much my entire life,) it ended up backfiring and after losing 5 lbs or so, I killed my metabolism and stopped losing weight.

If you want to try a fat burner, go with Gaspari's Mitotropin (GNC sells it and usually has free samples of it available.) I haven't heard of anyone who has used it and not seen positive results.

As for exercise... lift weights, do cardio. HIIT is supposed to burn fat with the quickness, so maybe throw that in a few days a week?

Beyond that... cut calories. Cut out crappy carbs, soda, and alcohol. Eat whole foods whenever possible. Keep calories in < calories out. Calculate your daily caloric expenditure, and then create the largest defecit you can without going below your BMR. If you go too low below your BMR, you then run the risk of entering starvation mode and stalling your metabolism.

One of the best things you can do is start using FitDay. There's a free version at FitDay.com, or you can download the torrent here: click here for link Seriously, USE IT. You can enter your stats and it'll estimate your BMR and give caloric recommendations based on your goals. I use it to log my daily activity and food intake. It breaks everything down so you can see your macro and micronutrients and all that jazz. Makes it easy to make sure you're eating enough protein and getting the recommended vitamins/nutrients. MUCH easier than trying to figure shit out on your own. Just ignore the protein recommendations they give, and aim for a minimum of .6 grams per pound of lean body mass every day. Don't be afraid to go higher. A bunch of sources recommend up to 1 gram per pound for people trying to lose weight while maintaining muscle mass.

As for foods, this is the list I always shop off of, depending on what I'm in the mood for and what I need to restock the fridge. Haha, I keep it saved in notepad so I can edit and print it whenever my mom's doing my grocery shopping.

Meats/Dairy:
-chicken breast x2
-turkey breast
-boneless country style pork ribs
-shrimp (when on sale)
-lean ground turkey breast
-top sirloin steak (occasionally)
-NY strip steak (occasionally)
-95% lean ground beef (occasionally)
-low sodium turkey deli meat
-deli roast beef (occassionally)
-beef jerky
-canadian bacon (occassionally)
-low-fat american cheese
-low-fat swiss cheese
-low-fat yogurt
-low-fat cottage cheese x2
-low-fat string cheese
-fresh mozzarella
-shredded parm
-skim milk
-eggs x2

Cereals:
-rolled oats (Quaker old fashioned in the canister)
-Total cranberry crunch cereal
-Kashi go lean crunch
-Kashi mountain medley granola

Whole Wheat/Whole Grain:
-english muffins
-bread
-tortilla wraps
-pasta
-brown rice
-quinoa
-couscous

Nuts:
-almonds
-pistachios
-peanut butter

Canned:
-diced tomatos
-pineapple chunks

Fresh:
-spinach
-romaine lettuce
-iceburg lettuce
-dark green salad mix
-perfect harvest salad kit (occasionally, love that apple cider dressing. so good.)
-avocado
-tomatos
-blueberries (frozen wild blueberries when out of season)
-strawberries (depending on prices)
-watermelon (when in season)
-mangos (seasonally)
-kiwi (seasonally)
-bananas x7
-apples
-grapefruit
-sweet potatoes x5
-carrots
-mushrooms
-onions
-garlic
-broccoli x2
-asparagus x2
-string beans
-snow peas
-bell peppers

Chicken/turkey should be skinless, and with all of your meats, trim the visible fat prior to cooking. Stick with lean cuts. Get your fat from healthy sources - nuts, natural peanut butter, olive oil, avocados, fatty fish, etc. I don't eat much seafood, but salmon, talapia, haddock, cod, tuna, shrimp, etc. are all fine if you like them.

according to the government a healthy daily intake would be:
- 6 slices of bread OR 3 cups of rice/cereal/oatmeal/pasta
- 5 cups of raw leafy vegetables
- 2 cups of fruit juice or 1 cup of dried fruit
- 3 cups of milk/yogurt OR 6 ounces of cheese
- 6 eggs or 6 ounces of meat or 3 ounces of beans/nuts

truth be told I think you'd be fine if that was your weekly diet. Basically, definitely stick to healthy foods, but eat less food in general. It's okay to feel hungry and avoid eating because you're bored. Even if you're working out there is no reason to be shoveling down food.

yeah I'm pretty sure I've gone for days on what would be the equivalent of 1/6 of that volume of food. but... you have to figure the government has a vested interest because pretty much all of the materials for that food are produced domestically.
