I'll admit, the word Jihad is a bit off-putting. But its not terrible.

The name of the person his voice reminds me of is on the tip of my tongue, wish I could remember.

Can't say I like the song you posted the video for, but the style of their song "Rejoice" reminds me a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel, and that's pretty great.

I can't work out what the name is getting at. Jihad means struggle so that makes perfect sense with the songs. No idea what andrew jackson is about, that's not his name. And I don't get the president/jihad link if there is one.

apparently most of their songs have an overtly political undertone. so there is probably some kind of link to it.

'Jihad' made me think of Team America, which is why I passed over this thread a few times before giving it a go.

andrew jackson, the president, butchered indians and drove them away. the name always made perfect sense to me. i am a huuuuuge fan of this band. i tried turning them on to other people, but most told me its too similar to the mountain goats.

i dont see the resemblance to neutral milk hotel at all.

i fucking wish they would play around here and stop dicking around in other countries. the closest philly gets is defiance, ohio and mischief brew.

in that specific song, its definitely reminiscent of the sound of neutral milk hotel's "in the aeroplane over the sea" album.

Its so rare for bands like that to come around here, kind of sucks. I almost died when I found out Lord Huron was in Philly last month and I missed them.

lol. macho meathead hardcore dude culture tends to be a bit off-putting to bands like this. the jersey-philly scene may not be the most conducive to their genre. you get what you pay for. lolol

met them last year. nice folks.
