since i have been laid off i have put on a couple pounds by sitting around doing nothing for 2 months

since i cant really afford a gym membership and have zero equipment outside of the perfect pushup and some resistence bands what would be a suggestion to start doing?

i have already been running, but need something else to keep it interesting

haha, i'm a big fan of lolga.

i have a friend who swore by milk jug dumbbells while he was deployed. slightly retarded, but you can find a couple workouts on google using them.

and if you have any spare cash at all, keep an eye on the craigslist sporting section. sometimes people will throw up barbells and plates for like $10-20/100lb set. a ton of infomercial equipment is always being posted for cheap. you might try freecycle as well, people post older bikes and shit on there all the time just to get rid of them. a few months ago, i was seeing cheap plates listed all the time, but now that i need more, they're harder to find. go figure.

also, google plyometrics and calisthenics. i'm sure you can find some shit that would be more interesting than running and conventional push ups.

Haha a gallon of milk weighs like eight pounds.

You can get a lot done with calisthenics, but lifting weights is the best thing to get yourself into shape. Find a cheap gym. You can find a place for around $30 a month in every part of the country. If you want to be a cheap ass then pushups, dips, squats, handstand pushups, hindu pushups, supine rows, and anything else where you are moving your body will work for you. Also dog yoga.
