the other day i had some outstanding customer service at a place you wouldn't expect (the supermarket), and when i got home i called the manager to let her know how great the guy was who helped us. i feel like checkout kids at the supermarket rarely get any nice words, and the guy was SO helpful, so i wanted to let him know he was appreciated.

i used to do that job, and it wouldve made my month if someone had called up and done this.
the odd kind word makes a huge difference.
