I'm seriously considering going to get waxed.
Who's done it already?
How bad is it?
How much do they usually run?
Do I start off with a bikini wax and make my way up to the Brazilian?

i've said it before but.... yes it hurts like a mother. but it gets easier after the first time because you're waxing less hair. i also do mine myself because i'm cheap and don't want anyone else near my stuff.

I started to do mine myself but after a while I just got lazy. I'm slow as hell too.

i love brazilians. i'm getting another one tomorrow. they run $60 where i go.

it does not hurt for me because my esthetician uses wax that attaches just to the hair, not the skin. avoid those wax strips whenever possible. she works on each side so it always comes out equal - for example, if it was someone's first time, they would not walk out hair-free on one side and hairy on the other. i love this method even though i get it all off as it seems to balance the sensation evenly. only the "landing strip" area hurts and that's no worse than taking off a bandaid - she just waxes it and puts her hand over it, the pressure takes the feeling away. rub a little baby oil on it to help moisturize, and your man will be quite happy with how it looks and feels.

i love going because each time less and less hair grows back. it's to the point now - this is TMI, be warned - that even when there is hair that has grown back, it is so soft and fine (and sparse!) that it still feels totally smooth. it's great. it barely has to grow to be waxed, by the way, so don't worry about turning into a hairy beast.

there's no reason to feel shy, either - this is their job. my esthetician sees vagina all day long. as long as you take care of yourself, you have no reason to worry. i was late once because i ran home from the gym to take a shower and she told me i should have just come anyway, she's seen it all (even sweaty, hahaha, ew).

I have no problem with my vagina but I get razor burn no matter what and it makes me feel ugly down there. I'd love to be free of that.

same problem, it's why i get my legs waxed too. people might think it's overly indulgent and a waste of money, but i got sick of having to go to the doctor (and pay a copay), get a prescription to clear it up (and pay a copay), and still use a new razor everysingletime (venus...we know how much those cost). it makes more sense for me to pay once every 5 weeks and not deal with the relative discomfort. ingrowns are still a VERY VERY real possibilty so you MUST take care of that - there are various products out there that work well to prevent them and/or heal them asap.

I never have problems with ingrown hairs except in my armpits.
