laura, we've gone and seen a whole lot of apartments on craigslist. seach away. i mean with anything i'm sure there's some weirdos but really its just as good as anything else, just a free way for them to let people know they've got places available.

yeah, i only just started browsing listings this morning. i don't know what took me so long to remember that Craigslist was even there, because i could have saved myself a lot of hassle. i just wish there were more listings for places in Delco, because i'm sure as hell not moving to the city.

as much as i would love that, the city is definitely not good for us. Steve works way the hell out in Concordville, and my two jobs are in Ardmore and Havertown. we're looking for something a little more centrally located.

True. The best way to tell is if the apartment they're advertising is way way under the other prices, at least as far as I've found.

Otherwise, it's pretty legit. We've looked at tons of apartments through craigslist, and run into no weirdos.

I had gotten an apt. from craigslist. We had actually looked at a bunch
of them before deciding. Everything turned out OK.

the house i'm in now was from craigslist. just make sure you talk to the landlord on the phone at least a few times and try to get through the bullshit.

oh, and lesson learned on my part, ask if there are going to be 2342346276473146 illegal immigrants living above you.

if you have any common sense - which it seems you do - using craigslist shouldn't be a problem.

i moved into an apartment with complete strangers who found me (i placed an ad) on craigslist. i have everything i could want in an apartment and live with decent people.

for what it's worth - i had much better place an ad saying what i wanted/needed vs. weeding through the ads myself. with the latter, i did see some nice places, but ultimately after placing the ad, i had people coming to ME and saying, "this is what i have from the list of what you want." huge time-saver.

why would you be so neurotic? Regardless of how you find the listing you still get to meet the landlord/see the place/feel out the situation out before you decide to sign a lease right?
