Years of news stories around the globe revealing catastrophic disasters related to meat consumption and threats of major epidemics that may be caused by diseases like Mad Cow, E.coli, and the H5N1 virus or bird flu, have convinced millions of people that consuming any of God's creatures is unhealthy and, in some cases, life threatening.

I read this and it's enough for me to laugh.

What's God got to do with this? Remember when he wouldn't accept a sacrifice unless it was a dead animal? I'm sure there's some more references to god's creatures in there, but that's the only one I know off the top of my head.

I'll stop eating meat if you agree that if the whole world stops needing cows for food there will be no practical reason to sustain their species in such numbers... they'll be killed at mass to prevent pollution and desertification, and one day our children's children will change the channel on a touching human-interest story on the evening news about how the last naturally-born cow, Bessie, died in captivity last night at the New San Diego Zoo (old San Diego was destroyed during The Second Coming). Even though cloning technology will, at that point, be good enough to grow a new cow no one cares enough to bother and they use her plat for a more interesting animal like the DayGlo winged Lemuraffe.

I just put this on here for those who believe. I didn't pick the title, that was the title that was on it. If someone believes in god, why couldn't they believe in this article?
There is no good excuse to eat animals, so don't even go there.

In essence, yes, but they are different.

This thread is pointless.

I haven't eaten animals since I was 4, and I haven't turned into a hippi yet. A hippi to me, is just a druggie, that's lazy and wears tie die shirts. I stopped eating meat, they tried to make me eat it, they tried to trick me into eating it, but I was too smart for them, which is more then I can say for you. Most kids try to get out of eating meat, but the parents force them to eat it. No one could force me. You are still eating it, just like society tells you, what is the pride in that?

The only reason you think it's tasty, is because that is what you are used to eating. If you tried some other things and got used to a healthy diet, that is what you would crave instead. Trust me, I used to eat milk and cheese, and I thought it would be so hard, but I don't ever crave them at all. As a matter of fact the thought of them make me sick, along with meat.
