is there a way i can kinda dissect a midi file, as in is there a program or something that will allow me to single out just a certain instrument in a midi file?

i honestly don't know a whole lot about them, so i don't even know if this is possible, but i was just wondering...

Cakewalk can import MIDI files, whether or not you can pick apart each instrument on a finish product, I don't know. But if you don't have cakewalk, you can hook me up with the file and I can test it out for you or something. I'm finished with work at noon today so I'll go home and mess around with Cakewalk and see what I can come up with for you.
