Fun Fact: When Doug Quaid gets out of his Chevy pick-up to buy a pack of Dorals he waves to a man standing by a vending machine. That man is Osama Bin Laden.

same, the original is always there

my exception is that there is a disproportionate amoutn of new original movies being made, which equals less options at the movie theater...while people with original ideas and already made films wont get the exposure they deserve.

That's my main problem with remakes. Mainstream hollywood is now content with spewing out remakes and sequels on a regular basis, which lowers the amount of new original ideas being made into films.

it's all a cash grab. hollywood doesn't want to shell out the money for a new franchise that could flop, so they're going to strip whatever was big or had a cult following in order to profit from it. there are tons of great ideas out there, they're just too chickenshit to take a chance. you'd think after the success of avatar, they'd be really interested in making more original ideas because there are tons of amazing screenplays out there that could be huge if they gave them a chance but since they're doing nothing but playing it safe, we all have to endure this shit.

yep, it's all purely based on profit, hollywood has lost sight of the art of making quality films for the most part

their new motto should be "didn't like the original? wait three years for the reboot!"
