Davey, re: your trip on the first page of this thread: do you consider this a long drive?

I ask because temporal/spatial perception intrigues me. I imagine that the English are more or less on the same page as, say, Germans, but not Scandinavians. Sort of like New Englanders and just about everyone else in the US, where the first group can drive a few hours and pass through 5 states and the latter can drive 5 hours and pass through nothing.

Yes, for me it is a huge drive. Literally the furthest I have ever driven.
I think it is understandable that I consider it to be a long journey. I will be travelling for 4 and a half hours. Another couple of hours and I could be in France. If I drove north the same distance I would be well in to Scotland. My country is tiny and pathetic.

Just walked my dogs, in a sweater and jeans I worked up a sweat. Heading into work in a bit for an hour or so- I will make sure to spend my entire time outside. Then I must finding something to do with the rest of my day.

Boss told me he's gonna be busy all day and to only bother him if it's an emergency. I've been working my ass off all week and I'm exhausted, so I interpreted what he said as "don't do shit today unless it's an emergency or you really want to."

That's what I figured, but good to know. I once shocked everyone I know in Germany by driving from Munich to Berlin and stopping only to pee, which is nothing special in (non-New England) American terms.

My current city is a 6.5-hour drive from the next large city. lol.

I took a 7 hour drive, when I was 18, to West Vagina to visit my sister at college. You're a gay.

I was bored yesterday and cracked since my gf has been hounding me to play it and downloaded it. I wish I could use a pen to draw instead of my fat fingers.

I took a 12 hour drive to Fort Knox, Kentucky last year. It wasn't too bad, but somehow the drive back took 13 hours and was horrible. It was like sticking needles in my eyes.

When my wife and I would drive to Florida from the Twin Cities to visit family for Christmas, we would make the trip down in one go.

23 fucking hours.
