I don't get HBO, I need to stream this shit. Worse case scenario I can download the episode after it airs. I'd like to watch it tonight though if possible.

So with pronger out the flyers will be looking to trade for a defenseman. Without pronger they have four solid blueliners in timmonen, coburn, carle and mez. But one of their biggest weaknesses in the 2010 Cup run was their third D pair. Parent and bartulis were terrible and theres no way holmgren will roll the dice again with the candidates they have now (lilja, walker, gustevvson, bourdon, marshall). So who?

More importantly, does Pronger's salary still count against the cap?

I don't think it does when he's on the IR.

If theyre all in they go after weber, suter, beauchemin, bouwmeester, jackman, phillips, wisniewski, gonchar. If girouxs out long term theyll need a forward too and a cheap solid option for D depth like mccabe, grossman, lydman would be likely i think. Standings are tight tho, only a few teams will be obvious sellers

They'd end up doing what Marc Savard is doing in Boston. He'd be on the IR until his contract is over, then officially retire. The Flyers would still have to pay him for the entire contract, but it wouldn't be a cap hit.

Fuck me what happened to the Flyers? I guess the winning streak had to end sooner or later.
