I only log in to these boards every so often, so if you need a quick response from me, call or text me. I went and it was very enjoyable despite the low attendance and poor weather towards the end. I love the international games and look forward to Aston Villa and Chelsea visiting later this year.

Despite the loss, the red bull game was great. Looking forward to that type of effort for the rest of the season. Especially from freddy adu.

I was livid at that call on Adu. With how poorly we have started and this being a game we really should have won, with how incredible Adu was playing that game, with that game being for the Eastern Conference lead for NYRB, that was just ludicrous. We could have very well had 3 points and because of that couldn't even get 1.

Fortunately there is still plenty of the season left to play, and we are only 2 wins out of a playoff spot. Hopefully they build on the win against Schalke and the great play on Sunday and bring that to a mediocre Dallas team this week. They follow that game against Toronto who has yet to win this season. That could put them right back on track just in time for their next home game which is against a pretty good squad in DC United.

I'm so out of touch this season. I've been to one game and have watched 2 on TV. I tried to get tickets to the MLS All-Star game but since I'm not a season ticket holder I was pretty assed out. I was on the second they went on sale to the public and the cheapest seats left were $200. I can't.

I have to get out to another game soon.

it was unreal to make a call like that...it wasnt a foul, but it wasnt a dive. he just kinda lost his balance bracing for a trip. i am hoping for 2 in a row coming up, and then the dc game should be rowdy on a saturday night.

Honestly, I would have been a burden to any season ticket holder because I was looking for 5 tickets and I know they only got the option of 6. I'm sure alot of the cheap seats were gone immediately and are going to be scalped for ridiculous prices. Now that I know that getting 5 at a reasonable price is impossible, I'm on the hunt for just one for myself now. So if anything comes up, please let me know.

But back to shitty calls. I didn't see the game this weekend but heard it was pretty terrible. However, I feel that the referees tend to rather harsh against the Union, especially at home games. I always feel like the Union get most if not all of the bullshit calls in a game. Maybe it's bias but I have felt that way at pretty much every game that I've been too. It's very rare that the Union have a botched call go in their favor.

honestly, they still should have won the game despite the bad call against freddy. they had 2 point blank chances in the 2nd half and either missed the net, or blasted it directly at the keeper.

What an awful loss to Toronto. Still, even with this joke of a season thus far, the Union are just 7 points out of a playoff position. That's two wins and a draw. The 7th seeded Houston already played and won to boost into the 5th seed which is the final playoff spot. The 4 and 6, Chicago and Columbus play tonight as well as the 6th seeded New England Revolution playing the 2nd seeded DC United. The 8th seeded Montreal plays a tough Western Conference opponent in Colorado. If the teams right above us can continue to lose as well then we can at least stay in striking distance, but sooner or later you have to start winning games. That isn't going to be easy when the next 3 games are against DCU, Sporting and Houston. At least we have the USOC to look forward to this week.

I'm curious to get some opinions and get a little debate going. If we finish somewhere between 6th and 10th and miss the playoffs after qualifying last year, yet the Union were able to win the USOC, how do you gauge the success of the season? Keep in mind that while most MLS clubs don't take the USOC with complete seriousness, the winner does get an automatic berth in the Champions League. The winner of the Champions League gets an automatic berth in the FIFA Club World Cup. Between both of those, the Union would get to be seen on a different scale and would get exposure to fans who don't normally see much or any of the MLS.
