Not saying much though huh.
I really hate how whenever they bring in a new guy, they absolutely HAVE to put him in a ton of squash matches to start him off. I think the WWE could definitely benefit from breaking away from the same old-same old boring-ass formulaic "rules" involved with wrestling and think outside of the box a little. Take Sandow's first match for instance - it lasted like a minute, against a guy who is like double his size and who's been on TV for a long time, not to mention the fact that he's a former IC Champion.
I understand the purpose of squashes, but jesus christ, the Brodus Clay shit is getting and has been bad for a long time now. His debut was AWESOME. Something I think no fan really expected at all, especially after the promos he was giving about ending the world or whatever. It was hilarious and totally broke down the semi-serious nature that was lingering there for a minute. In his first match, when he was waiting for the guy to get up off the mat and someone yelled "YOU SUCK BRODUS!" and his response was "ohh
my bad," I totally lost it - super funny. But then when he just started saying it for no reason as a catch phrase, it instantly became pointless. Add that to the fact that literally, every. single. match. he has wrestled in since his debut has been an exat replica of that first match, from the move-order clear down to the entrance and exit, and god damn if I'm not completely turned-off by that guy. It sucks because he could have been real fun, but now I couldn;t give less of a shit.
Tensai is the only guy they've put into any real matches, but they're just boring as hell. Rybeck and Clay are already established enough to where everybody knows who they are. Take them out of the squash scene and have them start feuding with someone, god damn. It was cool when Show demolished Brodus, but now it's like it never even happened and Show is gonna feud with Cena for a single PPV before they move him onto a completely unnecessary and stupid feud with Punk that literally no fan wants to see.
Man, I have such a love/hate relationship with wrestling. I stopped watching in the first place,
when I was 11 years old because they had started doing the shit that they've been doing for years now, obviously including since I started watching again. It just seems like it would be so, so easy to make the WWE interesting and compelling, yet the writers for the shows just piss everybody off what seems like all the time and every time I think that they're going to do what makes sense and will make the show and company better, they take a shit on my face and make everything bad.
Sorry for the novel here. I've actually been totally content for the past two weeks, and this past episode of Smackdown was easily the best episode I've watched since I got back into wrestling. I hope they keep it up and cool stuff happens, but I just know that in like two weeks I'm going to hate myself for spending 3 hours watching an episode of RAW where someone is literally in mid-sentence of firing Big Johnny until another guy's music starts and completely erases the person doing the firing's memory. I love Johnny's character by the way and don't want him to be taken off TV, it's just an example of the awful, awful writing staff that is for some reason allowed to have anything to do with a weekly live television program that I shouldn't hate as much as I do.
