I figured posting it in the WOMENS FORUM would eliminate any reason for that.

Me too.

I feel bad that you are constantly wasting money on bridesmaids dresses. I'd just opt out.

she's been one of my best friends for 14 years. If she wasn't, I would have declined from the start.

If she is a close friend, talk to her about it. If its a matter of a dress change or having you in her wedding I'm sure she'll understand the urgency. I have asked my bridesmaids to get whatever they want, as long as its relatively the same length, and in the same color. And navy looks good on 99% of people. My bridesmen on the other hand, will be wearing sailor suits meant to be childrens hallloween costumes.

The dress itself isn't bad looking, but that does suck. Alterations are stupid expensive if you get them done at the bridal shop. Do you have a friend maybe that's real good with a machine?
I hated the bridesmaid dress I was stuck in for my friend's wedding last May. I feel like they design bridesmaid dresses so you have to get alterations. The halter strap was 27 feet long and was connected under the pits, so a halter bra wouldn't work, and the back was dipped so a strapless wouldn't do. The bust was incredibly awkward too. I only had to make a few adjustments and I did them myself. F paying for them. I'd never agree to be in a wedding again. Hubs and I were both in it and ended up forking out over $1000 between us, NOT counting our gift.

We're going next sat to try it on, I'm hoping that everyone sees what I mean and that we can all agree on something else. I spend so much on stupid weddings, I'm barely able to save ever.

go buy bra cups from like joanne fabrics. take it to a tailor and have them put it in the dress. that's about as comfortable as I feel you could get with the dress without completely changing it.

maybe you could wear a wrap over it? I would assume you're not the only bridesmaid who may feel uncomfortable in that dress (unless they're all young and flat-chested) so maybe others would as well

all of the other bridesmaids with the exception of one girl, are like 5'8', 120lbs.

We're going this saturday, not stoked, but glad I'll be able to prove my point and we can settle on something better.
