Too many assholes who want government policy to reinforce their own moral judgments on others rather than to solve real problems.

If the government is going to fund these things, they should be asking questions and laying out stipulations and guidelines. That should be the case any time they are handing out a large amount of money for anything. Besides, I said most cases, not all. Are we talking young teenagers, rape victims, and women with serious health implications due to child birth? Or are we talking about all the people that have no real problems but just don't feel like dealing with the consequences of their own actions?

We don't want big brother jumping into our business unless it reinforces our own personal agenda right? Whether I prefer the government to fund legitimate scenarios when its necessary or blindly spend millions of dollars and not even ask any questions about it. Neither of which solve the real problem anyhow, they merely clean up after it.

Its not funding for abortion... its funding for planned parenthood, which provides a myriad of other services and in fact the vast majority of its activity is non-abortion related.

And I am guessing we DON'T have to ask if that graph is meant as a factual statement.

But hey.. the majority of their work is still based on sex.. and we all know women who aren't married shouldn't be having sex and women who are married shouldn't be on birth control.. and any women who do have sex and aren't married are all whores and thus they do not in any way matter, so who cares if they get diseases or have unplanned pregnancies?

Arizona bans funding of Planned Parenthood May 6, 2012

(CNN) -- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed off on a bill that will prevent abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving public funds in most cases, her office said.

"This is a common sense law that tightens existing state regulations and closes loopholes in order to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not used to fund abortions, whether directly or indirectly," the governor said in a statement.

"By signing this measure into law, I stand with the majority of Americans who oppose the use of taxpayer funds for abortion," Brewer said.

Kansas, North Carolina and Texas have enacted similar legislation, while Indiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin have used their budget processes to bar funding for abortion providers, according to her office.

Before Brewer signed the bill into law, the political arm of Planned Parenthood Arizona slammed the measure, which it says will put the health of thousands at risk.

Besides operating clinics where abortions are performed, Planned Parenthood provides a range of health services including cancer screenings, birth control, vaccinations, sexual health education and health counseling.

what's really funny is this will have no effect on abortions, just hiv testing, low cost birth control, and preventive cervical cancer screening.

or will increase the number of abortions as access to the largest source of safe and reliable birth control is eliminated.

if you understand it, then it's a word. words are based on usage; french, german, italian, spanish and yiddish cognates weren't considered words at first either, but through usage became words. this is why even the oxford dictionary [3rd link^] adds new words every year. not saying they're all shakespeare, but then again a lot of his language sounds just as strange today.

I have a linguistics degree. I have forgotten more about words than you will ever know.

My point was that it is a clumsy word that sounds incorrect and should not be used, just like all of the corporate-speak invented words that have become popular.
