And as much as I'm for breastfeeding where ever, I'm sure we all know that there's some annoying bitches who do it for attention. As corny as that sounds, it's true.
I'm also sure there's women who do it because they want someone to say something to them. They whip out their boob and say "I dare someone to say some shit to me, I have my speech already made, this fucker's going down. Say somethin!"

I didn't read much in this thread but the first post, however - I nursed both kids, I've had to nurse them in public. I always kept it on the DL.

I agree, Dianna. I think there are a lot of women that have that unfortunate mindset. They feel so entitled to breastfeed anywhere that they are the ones that end up making an issue out of it. Corny

most moms i know pump anyway and bring a bottle or two with them whenever they're going out. no big deal.

i don't see a problem if like suddenly the baby needs to eat, just be discreet about it. since it involves multiple bodily functions (eating and...excreting, kind of), you should be just as courteous as you would if it involved anything else.

it's your personal business (your baby, your boob), but it's a shared space, so...

it's supposed to be a relaxing for the baby and is an intimate mommy/baby experience, so i don't see why a mom would want to do it in most public situations, anyway.

for me anyway, being around someone that is breast feeding makes me incredibly uncomfortable regardless if we're in public or not, but especially when its in public.
its all fine and dandy that its a beautiful expression of love or whatever but its really uncomfortable to hear the baby sucking.
normally if someone sitting next to me starts breast feeding, i'll get up and move regardless if they are my friend or not.

I get pissed because they always seem to look suspicious and I look harder, eventually figure out what is happening and feel like a mega creep.

I think the issue with breastfeeding in public is only in this country really. I mean the US as a whole is super sensitive to any form of nudity and it has become easier to deem it in appropriate across the board rather than educate children about appropriate and inappropriate nudity.

I personally think a woman should be able to breastfeed wherever. From the subway to the fanciest of schmanciest restaurants. I think at that point, it's your damn problem if you are offended. Now I get that there should be some decancy involved and the woman shouldn't just whip out her milk jug like it ain't no thing but she still should be able to nurse wherever.
