Just got done reading the first 6 books from Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. I got a little sick of the series by book 5 but they all have at least 1 good sex scene, so will keep reading as they come out. Not bad for a paranormal romance series above the PG13 reading level. I give it a B.

Reading Salem's Lot now. I'm not usually a fan of King's writing but my mom gave me a ton of his books and I have nothing else to read at the moment.

I'm reading (generic crap from the bestseller list or something that punks/hipsters/angsty people are supposed to like.)

Most of this thread is whack.

I realized I made it through my whole education without ever reading the "classics":

The Great Gatsby, 1984, Catcher in the Rye, Catch 22, etc.

So I've made it my goal ot accomplish that this year...I have a list of about 50 books I'm going to polish off.

Already did The Great Gatsby in about 2 days, and it was amazing.

The story was not as good as the writing, but I dug it none the less. There is a paragraph that kind of gave me a literary boner. Describing seeing the ride home on a summer night as well as seeing Gatsby for hte first time:

"Already it was deep summer on roadhouse roofs and in front of wayside garages, where new red gas pumps sat out in pools of light...." "The wind had blown off, leaving a loud bright night with wings beating in the trees and a persistent organ sound as the full beloows of the earth blew the frogs full of life. The silhouette of a moving cat wavered acrsoss the moonlight..."

Regarding Gatsby: "Something in his leisurely movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself, come out to determine what share was his of our local heavens."

If I was reading this in a book, I would have certainly highlighted that. Instead, its on an ereader, so fail.
