I will check out all of these. Any albums in specific I should look into? I've heard Monch before, but never got around to picking up an album.

Royce is easily one of my favorite hip-hop artists of all time.

I was really disappointed when Street Hop came out.

yeah street hop wasn't the greatest, most of royce's best songs don't even end up on anything, they just get leaked or on random mixtapes that are too annoying to track down. royce does a lot of nice shit with slaughterhouse too and i already loved crooked and joe budden before they got together, joell ortiz was a bonus.

ps. i don't have much to contribute to this thread. i'm assuming you mean "intellectual" and not "intelligent" because that is highly debatable.

Whatever. I'm talking about hip-hop with a focus on lyrical depth and intelligent content. Not hip-hop that focuses on beats, or focuses on wack lyrical content like drugs, hoes, clothes, and bank rolls. If it gets played in a club, I'm not listening to it.
