Not to say that it's wrong to take the body, but you could always lift his stick. Worked for me throughout the six or seven years I played league hockey. Seems to work pretty well for Pavel Datsyuk. But I guess completely rocking a guy with his head down is also an option haha.

Flyers didnt feel comfortable resigning Niittymaki due to his hip labrum problem. Now Emery has the same problem and may have season ending surgerry. Menawhile Niitty is playing great in tampa.

Dallas traded for Lehtonen and rumors are now swirling that the Flyers are interested in trading for Turco

I wonder if they intend to use Lehtonen as their starter, because that will not solve any of their problems lol.

i don't like how turco would fit in here. the flyers need a technically sound goalie. he may have helped a few years ago, but the defense has changed recently and they give up a lot less chances. turco would do well on a team that flies up and down the ice, the hawks maybe, but not here

Lehtonen hasnt played in the nhl in a year, I cant see them starting him if they seriously want to push for one of the final playoff spots. They cant win on the road so I think the playoffs are a pipe dream. Turco is gone at the end of the year so it makes sense to trade him for something, platoon Auld and Lehtonen and prepare for next year.

Turcos cap hit is HUGE

dan pollard and kevin weekes were very critical of carter on the nhl network, calling it a cheapshot. Joe Beninati said that carter hit salmela as he was "celebrating" which is ridiculous. Like Dale Hunter on Pierre Turgeon

Tim Pannaccio has said a number of times that the Flyers are not interested in Turco, and Holmgren himself said this a couple times as well.

true but that was before their number one goalie was facing season ending surgery. Surely they wouldnt go into the playoffs with Leighton/Boucher. If not Turco, who?

And if emery foregoes surgery til the offseason and decides to play hurt the rest of this year, not sure how much confidence i have in him

Anyone remember that one playoff game between the Stars vs Sharks that went into triple OT? I forget if that was last season or the season before, but Nabokov and Turco put on a fucking show that game, some of the best goaltending between those two guys that I have ever seen in my life.
