Why? That was his first this season

That was only his first of the year? I'm pretty sure Crosby already has three hatties this year. Ovechkin's stats this year are crazy though, and he's played like 8-9 less games than the other leading scorers in the league.

Yep, They wrote in the game recap that it was his first this season. Ovie has had tons of 2 goal games though.

Well, I meant if hypothetically the team was swapped over into the western conference, they wouldn't be nearly as dominant. Their record against the western conference is good this year, I'll give them that, but nevertheless. The west in general plays more defensive minded, more physical, and tougher all around. Plus Washington plays in the easiest division in the league. I don't think they have the depth on the blueline (Mike Green...not good at all defensively, who's next in line after him, tom poti?) or the goaltending to win a cup.

i will agree with you about being weak on the blue line...and i would rather have Varly (who has been hurt) be the number one goalie..but to say that the best team in the West (Hawks) would rock the caps is simply wrong. Weak division, yes, but look at the opponents on this 14 game winning streak. Caps score a lot and it doesnt matter against who..only time will tell if the d will hold up and maybe it wont..and yes the caps are well above .500 against the Western Conference this year (1-1 against the Sharks, who I think will choke like they always do).
