I mean it definitely is a personal opinion on what fights an individual would want to see, but personally some of these matchups are either irrelevant or simply just too ridiculous.
For instance, the Don Frye vs. Fedor fight would be completely unnecessary. Frye would be put out fast. He's a gamer but other than punching power and williness to "go get it" he has nothing to offer to the sport anymore. I'll always be a big fan of his but if you have paid attention to MMA in the last, we'll say, 5 years you would know that Frye would lose badly. Shit he just fought an unranked HW in Dave Herman and was KO'd in around 90 seconds.
I mean there are always the "what if" fights like having Fedor vs. Gomi when they were dominating their PRIDE divisions and since Pride was big on the David vs. Goliath bouts. But really what's the point? Fedor vs. Anderson Silva almost falls into this catagory. I'd be more interested in this bout if it was K-1 rules and they weren't allowed to go to the ground.
Fedor vs. Aleks is another pointless bout. For most the curiosity is there to see what happens when two brothers fight. It's up there with the completely useless Frank vs. Ken bout. But allow me to educate you (and there is video proof of this) Fedor smoked Aleks in a Combat Sambo tournament where they had to face eachother. And incase you are unaware, Combat Sambo is basically MMA. I think that's a pretty good indication what would happen if they stepped into the ring or cage.
A good fantasy matchup would be something like Couture vs. Fedor, Penn vs. Aoki/Hansen/Alvarez, Arona vs. Ortiz, Rampage vs. Ortiz, Anderson Silva vs. Machida...those type of fights.
