you're not the asshole. i def would have said something. i hate going to a bar or restaurant and seeing people texting away merrily as though they were home on the couch. i love to text, and frequently do so, but i try to refrain when in company, especially with good friends. you're going out to be social, so why be glued to your phone? it's rude and totally lame.

I text obsessively. I am aware of how obnoxious it is, so if someone called me out on it, I would accept the fact that they are right.

my friend can't stand being wrong. a few weeks ago she tried to bet me $100 that Milla Jovovich's name was actually Milla Jonavitch. i just laughed at her while she hollered about how i'm wrong and she's right, and just gave her the satisfactory "i told ya so" when she looked it up online. she's just one of those people that does not want to be wrong, ever. so i lose every argument, regardless. i know that going in but sometimes you just need shit to be said. na mean?

That's exactly what i said!!!!!! Somehow that's common knowledge as being rude, yet nobody makes the connection with texting.

And I agree... I can't imagine trying to teach students while they're tap-tap-taping away on their blackberry's and sidekicks and whathave you.

OH.. and i'd like to retract my statement about my tomato plants. I just went outside to try to hack away some of the overgrown leaves so my little guys could get some sun and counted OVER 35 tomatoes between my 2 plants. My hybrid has about 20-25 and the other has 10 or 15. I am happy about that. Some habaneros are coming in too, but my red and yellow pepper plants are still pretty bare.
